Introducing A New VMN Face - Quin Campbell
We are very pleased to introduce our new Virginia Tech undergraduate student intern for Fall 2024! Virginia Tech’s Campus internEXP program provides a supportive framework for students to build career skills and a great opportunity for university departments and programs like ours.
Quinlan (Quin) Campbell will be serving through at least the fall semester as the Virginia Master Naturalist Communications and Volunteer Engagement Intern. Quin is a sophomore at Virginia Tech studying Environmental Data Science, with minors in Wildland Fire and GIS. She is incredibly passionate about the natural sciences and sustainability, with a focus on the changes that individuals and communities can make to better the planet. In her free time, Quin loves hiking, climbing, birding, yoga, and paddleboarding. She is excited to contribute to Virginia Master Naturalist's mission!
Quin will be working on projects such as expanding the VMN social media presence, building out our photo database, and engaging with our volunteers to gather stories about their impactful service. We are thrilled to have her on board!
Send Us Your Urban and Community Forestry Project Stories
We are looking to update our VMN Urban and Community Forestry StoryMap. The StoryMap is an online site where we have presented stories of impactful urban forestry projects by VMN volunteers. If you/your chapter has an impactful project to add to the map, please (1) check the StoryMap to see if it is already listed, and if it is not, (2) email both Michelle [email protected] and Quin [email protected] with a name for the project, the location, a 2-3 paragraph description of what you did and what impacts it had, and a photo or two.
